The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has decided to cancel the planned procession on January 17, allowing devotees to witness the new idol of Ram Lalla across Ayodhya ahead of the consecration ceremony. Instead, the trust will facilitate a tour of the new idol within the premises of the Ram Janmabhoomi on the same day, addressing concerns raised by security agencies regarding crowd management.
The decision to cancel the procession was made after a meeting between officials of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Acharyas of Kashi, and senior administrative officials. The Ayodhya district administration expressed concerns about the potential difficulty in controlling the crowd, anticipating a rush of devotees and pilgrims eager to have darshan of the new idol of Ram Lalla during the city tour.
The alteration in plans aims to ensure smooth crowd management and security during this significant event. The trust remains committed to providing devotees with the opportunity to witness and seek the blessings of the revered idol within the secure confines of the Ram Janmabhoomi premises on January 17.
