The Rajya Sabha will meet for the forthcoming monsoon session of Parliament from July 20 to August 11, according to the Upper House secretariat.
“The President has summoned the Rajya Sabha to meet on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, and to conclude on Friday, August 11th, 2023,” the statement added.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi stated earlier on Saturday that the monsoon session of Parliament will begin on 20 July. He stated that the session would last until 11 August.
“Monsoon Session, 2023 of Parliament will commence from 20th July and continue till 11th August. Urge all parties to contribute towards productive discussions on Legislative Business and other items during the Monsoon Session,” Joshi tweeted yesterday.
He stated that this session will consist of 17 sittings lasting 23 days. “I appeal to all parties to contribute constructively to the legislative and other business of Parliament during the session,” the union minister said.
On May 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the new Parliament building. The government is likely to have a busy legislative agenda this year. Opposition parties are also preparing to challenge the government on a variety of issues.
