Rajasthan’s administrative hurdles pile up amid cabinet delay

Although the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the elections in Rajasthan and formed the government, the expansion of the cabinet has not been done yet. As a result, work in government offices is stuck. Officials are also waiting for the government to start working so that they can actively implement plans. Along with this, work on stuck projects from the previous government is not progressing. The most distress is coming in administrative campaigns with urban administrations, and rural administrations along with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Chiranjivi Yojana. People are also not getting plots in municipal bodies.
There is a hindrance in the work of almost all departments. According to constitutional rules, a maximum of 30 ministers, including the Chief Minister, can be appointed in Rajasthan. H
owever, currently, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Ministers Deeya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa have taken the oath. In this case, 27 more ministers can be appointed. However, the expansion of Bhajan Lal’s cabinet is not happening yet.
It is worth mentioning that 12 days after the election results on December 3, Bhajan Lal Sharma and both deputy chief ministers took the oath. However, the allocation of departments to both deputy chief ministers has not been done yet. In this way, even after 22 days of election results, routine work is not starting in the state.
Economy, petrol-diesel: Big promises were made by the BJP
It is worth noting that along with election campaigning, the BJP has made many big promises in its election manifesto.
This includes the promise to start the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had said that as soon as the government is formed, VAT will be reduced on petrol and diesel, providing relief to the public. However, no such major decision has been taken yet.
People request the CM to start his work: Yunus Khan
A former minister in the previous BJP government and now an independent MLA from Didwana, Yunus Khan, has also expressed his sarcasm on the state’s situation. He said, “The public requests that the honourable Chief Minister start his work. Take action on your cabinet. If this does not happen, the public will be disappointed.”
He added, “When the Congress government was formed in the state, there was a similar situation at that time. Once a wrong message spreads among the people, there is no way to correct it.
A double-engine government has been formed in the state. Speed should come in the work. The public has many expectations from the government. Therefore, there should be no delay in it. There should be no delay in it.”
Two deputy chief ministers should at least be given some departments: Dotasra
Meanwhile, Pradesh Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra said, “The government should start working immediately. 12 days after the CM-Deputy CM’s oath, it happened. So what would go wrong if it happened on the 13th day? The Chief Minister’s name was announced on the day of Amavasya. At least these two deputy chief ministers should be given departments so that the government’s work starts.”
