Rajasthan Forum hosts Desert Soul with Kathak maestro

It’s a constant endeavour of the Rajasthan Forum to preserve and promote the ancient traditions of Rajasthan. In this series, the Rajasthan forum organised Desert Soul with renowned kathak guru and choreographer Rekha Thakar on Thursday. Desert Soul is supported by Shree Cement as its CSR initiative. The hospitality partner of the series is ITC Rajputana.
The conversation was facilitated by dancer Manisha Gulyani. Dr. Rekha Thakar, a renowned Kathak guru and choreographer born and raised in Jaipur, graced the session as the keynote speaker and guest. Dr Rekha, having achieved expertise in both theoretical and practical aspects of Kathak, shared insights into the principles of Kathak and her journey from learning dance at a Kathak centre in Jaipur to currently shaping young artists as the head instructor at the same centre.
During the session, Dr Rekha discussed various intricacies of Kathak, stating that to master any art hard work and dedication are very important. She also responded to several intriguing questions posed by the audience.
The opening and closing remark was given by Professor Dr. Madhu Bhatt Tailang and Executive Secretary Apra Kuchhal. The program concluded with the presentation of a memento to the guest of honour by Padmashree Ram Kishore Chippa, Padmashree Munna Master, Padmashree Tilak Gitai and Dr Madhu Bhatt Tailang acknowledging their contribution.
