After the opening of the Bhakhra dam’s floodgates on Wednesday, numerous villages in the Nangal area of Ropar district were submerged. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) then sent four teams to the locations to conduct the rescue operations.
The authorities added that several individuals were successfully relocated after an alarm was issued in areas that are low.
One of the teams was at the Harsa Bela community, where the floodwaters had left at least 17 people stranded.
The rescue team tried their best to save even a single person from the drowning area. Rescue efforts were being conducted by the district administration and NDRF forces as of the time this story was filed.
