Punjab is currently experiencing the onslaught of foggy conditions. On Sunday, visibility was significantly reduced in many places across Punjab due to dense fog. Particularly in Adampur, Jalandhar, visibility was as low as 50 to 200 meters, while in Amritsar, it ranged from 200 to 500 meters, Ludhiana from 500 to 1000 meters, Bhatinda from 200 to 500 meters, and Patiala from 2000 to 4000 meters, according to the weather department. The department predicts dry weather for the upcoming six days, but the persistence of fog is expected to continue. The temperature in Punjab is anticipated to drop by two degrees in the next 48 hours.
Even on Sunday, Punjab recorded a marginal decrease in the maximum temperature, by 0.1 degree. The daytime temperature remains close to normal. Faridkot recorded the highest at 24.7 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, a slight increase of 0.2 degrees was observed in the minimum temperature, which is also near normal.
The minimum temperature in Faridkot was the lowest at 5.2 degrees Celsius. In other major cities, Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 7.0 degrees, Ludhiana 10.1, Patiala 8.7, Pathankot 7.8, Jalandhar 7.8, Barnala 5.8, Fatehgarh Sahib 10.6, and Ropar 6.0 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperatures for key cities were recorded as follows: Amritsar 22.9 degrees, Ludhiana 22.4, Patiala 23.6, Pathankot 22.0, Gurdaspur 22.0, Jalandhar 21.7, Ropar 22.1 degrees Celsius. According to the department, a new western disturbance is expected to affect Punjab’s weather from Monday, but it won’t bring rain. Some places in Punjab may witness cloud cover in the sky.
