In a collaborative effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police successfully intercepted a Chinese drone carrying contraband in the vicinity of Dal village in Tarn Taran, Punjab, according to an official statement released by the BSF on Wednesday.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding the intrusion of a drone, BSF troops, in conjunction with local police, managed to locate and intercept the suspected drone near Dal village. The subsequent search operation, conducted around 5:30 p.m., resulted in the discovery of a China-made drone identified as a Quadcopter (Model – DJI Matrice RTK 300, manufactured in China).
The drone was found to be carrying a packet containing approximately 2.718 kg of suspected heroin. This marks the second such interception in recent days, following a similar incident near Dhanoe Khurd village in Punjab’s Amritsar district on Tuesday, where a drone with 540 grams of contraband was recovered by the BSF and Punjab Police. The recovered items are believed to be part of illicit activities, and investigations are underway to identify the individuals responsible for the smuggling attempts.
