Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann voiced strong criticism against governor causing interference in Punjab and the BJP leadership in Bengal. Mann highlighted the issue of governors deeming certain actions as illegal rather than within the legal framework, emphasizing that Punjab has a democratically elected government that will adhere to democratic principles. During the protest related to the Chandigarh mayoral election results, Mann expressed concerns about the interference of governors and the prevalence of selected governance in the country. He stated that whenever he wishes, he pursues actions against institutions like the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Furthermore, Mann paid tribute to the sacrifices of Punjab’s residents during the country’s independence and partition, asserting that 10 lakh people from the state had sacrificed for freedom. Despite this, he criticized the central government for not recognizing and acknowledging these sacrifices. Pledging not to let the sacrifices of martyrs such as Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru be in vain, Mann declared that they would stand as successors, ensuring the country does not fall into the wrong hands.

In a separate comment, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, referencing the Chandigarh mayoral election, remarked on the BJP’s alleged malpractices, using the Sanskrit shloka “Yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati Bharata.” Mann echoed these sentiments, warning that if the BJP returns to power in 2024, people should expect a lack of future elections, potentially leading to authoritarian rule.
