Punjab Engineering College hosts three days global data analytics summit

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh recently hosted a highly anticipated 3-day International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computing Technologies, Internet of Things, and Data Analytics (AICTA) from December 18-20. Co-sponsored technically by the International Center for AI and Cybersecurity Research and Innovation, Asia University, Taiwan, the conference aimed to offer a platform for discussions on strategies, recent trends, and innovation in various areas of computer science and engineering. Topics included artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, cloud computing, networking, and data analytics.

Associate Professor Dr. Poonam Saini emphasized that AICTA 2023 aimed to inspire discussions and share insights among academicians, scientists, and students. The conference sought to foster knowledge dissemination, promote discussions on practical challenges, and bring together diverse perspectives.

Organizing Secretary Dr. Manish Kumar highlighted the first day’s focus on a pre-workshop dedicated to “Women in Computing.” This session aimed to provide a platform for women researchers to present their work. Notably, Ulster University, UK, was invited as the guest of honor. The subsequent two days focused on paper presentations across three tracks: Data Science, IoT, and Artificial Intelligence. Renowned speakers from global institutions, including City University of Hong Kong, University of Salerno (Italy), and Macquarie University (Australia), delivered key talks. Industry experts from Trashaddaddyg and Airbus shared insights on current technologies and industry trends.

Student coordinators Jatin Chugh and Bharat revealed that out of 290 presented papers, 65 passed the quality check and earned recognition from Springer for publication in the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS) series. Director Professor Baldev Setia congratulated the department for its continuous efforts and noted that the Institute of Computer Science and Engineering has consistently attracted top engineering talent.
