Punjab CM expresses shock over road accident due to fog

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday expressed deep shock and anguish over a tragic road accident near Samrala due to heavy fog thereby injuring several commuters.
The Chief Minister bemoaned that due to fog several vehicles had collided with each other on Monday morning due to which a number of commuters were injured. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he had already directed district administration to provide free treatment to all the injured. He said that he was constantly in touch with the administration and was regularly monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, in wake of foggy days ahead, the Chief Minister exhorted the people to drive their vehicles cautiously so as to avoid any sort of loss of life and property.
Due to smog in Punjab, more than 100 vehicles collided in an area of ​​about 13 kilometers on Amritsar-Delhi National Highway. These accidents happened at different places. One youth died in these. While 6 people have been seriously injured. He has been admitted to Khanna Civil Hospital.
According to the information, there was dense fog in the morning. Visibility was very low. Due to this, vehicles collided at many places in an area of ​​about 13 kilometers from SSP office in Khanna to Bija in Ludhiana. More vehicles collided near SSP office.
In the accidents on the National Highway, 3 to 4 buses, trucks, trolleys and cars have collided with each other. People traveling in the buses suffered minor injuries. Who have been given first aid. The number of cars involved in these accidents is high. Who have suffered a lot of damage. The front part of some buses has been completely damaged.
During this time an accident occurred near Greenland Hotel. Here also about a dozen vehicles collided. A young man from Sirhind died at this place. Several vehicles collided near Gulzar College, Libra, a short distance from here.
DSP Rajesh Sharma said that the places where the vehicles were damaged were inspected. As of now they have a list of 22 to 25 vehicles. Further investigation is underway, but it is believed that the police have information about the vehicles that have suffered major damage. There are many such vehicles which were taken away by the owners without informing them after being slightly damaged.
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh visited the Civil Hospital in Khanna this evening to inquire about the well-being of those who were involved in the road accident last night.
