President Droupadi Murmu to confer “National Awards to Teachers” in Vigyan Bhawan

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, President Droupadi Murmu will confer ‘National Awards to Teachers 2022’ on Monday at 11 am in Vigyan Bhawan.

Meanwhile, from different parts of the country 46 teachers have been selected for the National Awards. The teachers have been selected from Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Telangana.

At the event, Union Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also be present.

Taking to Twitter Pradhan said, “#OurTeachersOurPride: Thanking our teachers for spreading the light of knowledge. Today, President Droupadi Murmu will honor the finest teachers from across the country with NAT2022, from 11 am onwards.”

On the other hand on the eve of Teacher’s Day President Murmu also extended her greetings and said, “On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, I extend my warm wishes to all the teachers in our country.”

President Murmu further added, “This occasion marks the birth anniversary of the great teacher-philosopher and former President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. I pay my humble tributes to him. He is an inspiration for all teachers who try to instil, in addition to knowledge, human values in the students.”

Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the winners in the evening.

Every year the Ministry of Education has been organising the event at Vigyan Bhawan on September 5.

However, in memory of former President Dr. S Radhakrishnan Teachers’ Day is celebrated across the country. In 1962 this tradition began to celebrate Teachers’ Day across the country.
