Police rescue newborn baby abandoned in a bucket in Chengannur, Kerala

Officials said on Tuesday that police rescued a newborn infant abandoned by its mother in a bucket inside a bathroom in Chengannur, Kerala’s Alappuzha district.
According to police, after giving birth at home, the mother went to the hospital and told them that the baby had been left in a bucket because she believed it was dead. The hospital officials notified the police, who then arrived at the house, rescued the infant, and transported it to the hospital.
The newborn infant was taken to the hospital alive by Chengannur police after its mother abandoned it in a bucket in the bathroom.
