In a significant operation, the police, in collaboration with security forces, successfully arrested three terrorist associates in Sopore. The operation led to the recovery of a pistol and various other incriminating materials from the possession of the apprehended individuals.
The joint team comprising Police, Army (22RR), and CRPF (179BN) established a checkpoint at the Fruit Mandi crossing. During their vigilance, they noticed three suspicious persons attempting to evade capture. With swift and tactful action, the alert joint party managed to apprehend the suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Faisal Ahmad Kachroo, son of Farooq Ahmad Kachroo, hailing from Baba Yousuf Sopore; Aquib Mehraj Kana, son of Mehraj din Kana, residing in Sangrama Sopore; and Adil Akber Gojree, son of Akbar Gojree, from Kushal Matoo Sopore.
Upon conducting a search, law enforcement recovered a pistol, mobile phones, and other potentially damning materials from the possession of the arrested individuals. Notably, the trio failed to provide justifiable explanations for the contents found on their phones, which reportedly contained incriminating evidence.
Following the apprehension, authorities have initiated further investigation into the matter. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Sopore, marked as FIR No. 68/2024.
