PM Modi’s Kanyakumari Meditation: 2,000 Officers Deployed for Security

All preparations, including heightened security measures, are in place for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 45-hour visit to the renowned Vivekananda Rock Memorial, situated mid-sea. During his stay, he will engage in meditation at the site dedicated to the revered Hindu saint.

The DMK in Tamil Nadu has petitioned the district collector to deny permission for the PM’s spiritual retreat, citing the ongoing election model code of conduct and the current tourism season, which attracts a significant number of domestic and international tourists.

The beach will be off-limits to tourists from Thursday to Saturday, and private boats will be prohibited from operating.

The district, located at India’s southernmost point, will have a substantial security presence, with 2,000 police officers and various security agencies maintaining strict vigilance during the PM’s event. This mirrors a similar meditation exercise he undertook in a Kedarnath cave following the 2019 election campaign.
