Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed his plan to observe a special 11-day ritual fast starting from the current date until January 22. The announcement comes in preparation for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the new idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, scheduled for January 22. The ceremony will be performed by PM Modi himself.
In an audio message shared on the social media platform X, PM Modi expressed his gratitude for being a witness to the “historic” and “auspicious” occasion. He acknowledged the significance of the consecration ceremony and emphasized his commitment to rigorously follow all the rituals, despite his hectic schedule and responsibilities.
PM Modi mentioned that he is experiencing a unique sense of devotion and realization during this “bhav yatra” (emotive journey), which he finds challenging to express in words. He highlighted the importance of consecrating the idol according to the prescribed rules and mentioned starting the 11-day ritual from Nashik Dham-Panchavati, the sacred land where Lord Shri Ram spent considerable time.
Explaining the purpose of the ritual, PM Modi referred to awakening divine consciousness within oneself for the Yagya and worship of God. He outlined that fasting and strict rules, as suggested by ascetic souls and spiritual leaders, are prescribed in scriptures for this purpose.
The Prime Minister concluded his message with prayers at the feet of God, expressing gratitude for the virtues of sages and ascetics. He sought blessings from the people, considering them the form of God, to ensure no shortcomings from his side in mind, words, and deeds during this holy occasion.
