Plan to remove encroachments from religious sites across Maharashtra unveiled

During a district planning meeting in Gadchiroli, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a phased strategy to eliminate encroachments on religious sites across Maharashtra. Emphasizing the systematic approach to reclaiming these sacred places, Fadnavis stressed the gradual nature of the removal process. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to preserving the sanctity of religious spaces.

Fadnavis also discussed plans for an airport in Gadchiroli to enhance connectivity and infrastructure development, highlighting the region’s potential for economic growth.
The phased approach reflects a meticulous strategy, considering the sensitivities surrounding religious sites.

As part of ongoing discussions, Fadnavis’s announcement signifies a significant step toward enhancing the preservation and accessibility of religious places in Maharashtra. The government’s commitment to upholding the cultural and spiritual heritage of the state is affirmed through this initiative. Additionally, the focus on infrastructure development aligns with efforts to foster regional growth and connectivity.

Gadchiroli, a predominantly tribal district, is undergoing industrial development, with various government-backed industries. The district aims to become an industrial hub, prompting the state government to allocate maximum funds for its development. Plans for an airport in Gadchiroli, with completed surveys and upcoming land acquisition, are in progress. Furthermore, a government medical college is slated to be established in the district.

During the District Planning Committee meeting, issues related to Forest Department land and the electricity department’s development funds were discussed and resolved. Fadnavis also mentioned the commencement of the first phase of the Kondsari project and the foundation laying of the second project worth Rs 20,000 crore in the near future.
