Pakistan, China jittery over India’s acquisition of Rafale fighter jets

Both Pakistan and China are jittery ever since first batch of five sets of Rafale fighter jets touched the IAF’s Ambala base. China is not coming out in open with any remarks reflecting its fear of India augmenting its military capability. But Pakistan is panicking and reacting out of fear.

The MEA officials are of the view that Pakistan is reacting because it’s extremely terrified after India got Rafale jets. The officials also believe that Pakistan is trying to blow the issue out of proportion at the behest of China. India is cautious thinking that both the neighbouring countries would keep playing to the gallery on New Delhi acquiring Rafale jets.

Pakistan has accused India of amassing military capabilities. It has tried to reach out to the world community with the complaint regarding the same. The Pakistan foreign spokesperson has asked the global community to dissuade India from what he called disproportionate arms build-up which, according to him, could lead to an arms race in South Asia.

MEA top sources said that Indian diplomats have already briefed key representatives of several nations including the US on how Pakistan and China are giving currency to non-issue. Rafale jets being more capable of Pakistan F-16 and China’s J20 is a major reason that has caused jitters in military camps of both the nations. According to sources, Pakistan PM Imran Khan had a two-hour-long meeting with top army brass in Rawalpindi to take stock of India’s augmented military capabilities with the addition of Rafale jets.

Likewise, Chinese PLA top brass have had review meetings at a place far from Beijing. China is already placed under fear following its military standoff with India last month.

However, MEA is taking no chance. It’s ready with all the facts and figures to counter propaganda of both the nations. India has apprised the UN about how Pakistan has been evasive on the question of amassing nuclear arsenals on the sly. China’s silence over this issue has been interpreted as its tacit connivance with Pakistan in its nuclear ambitions.

India is determined to expose both the nations’ bid to build up military might leading to arms race in real sense of the term.
