Keeping in view that the rural areas in Haryana are continuously witnessing a spike in Covid cases and related deaths, the state government had issued orders to deploy more than 5,000 health teams under the Haryana Villagers General Health Check-up Scheme (HVGHC). The scheme has now brought positive results, as data reveals that as many as 4,097 villages and 47,57,036 people have been covered by it.
Ambala, Fatehabad, Jhajjar, Kurukshetra, Palwal and Fatehabad are among the districts where the maximum number of teams have been deployed.
Haryana Health and Home Minister Anil Vij said that as many as 5,000 teams have been deployed for door-to-door screening which clearly indicates the seriousness of the state government to tackle Covid and provide timely treatment.
Among the total people screened in the first phase, 1,511 tested positive for the coronavirus. Out of them, 1,410 were administered the Rapid Antigen Test while 101 by the RT-PCR test. As many as 328 persons were also put under care at the village isolation centre while 79 were referred to higher centres for treatment.
