In a tragic occurrence, a one-and-a-half-year-old baby in Odisha’s Balasore district died after he drank fuel that his father had mistakenly put in a bottle.
According to the police, the father had kept the fuel in a bottle while working on his car on Tuesday.
While inside the house playing, his child inadvertently drank fuel, thinking it was water.
A few minutes later, he began to vomit and struggle to breathe. He was sent urgently for treatment to a neighbouring hospital. But as his condition worsened, he was rushed to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
He was transferred to another hospital, where the child died as a result of medical complications.
“It is a tragic incident. The boy’s father had accidentally kept the diesel bottle unattended and the child drank it,” said a doctor
