Nilesh Rane, son of union minister Narayan Rane, quits electoral politics

Former MP Nilesh Rane, son of Union Minister Narayan Rane and a BJP leader, has officially withdrawn from electoral politics. Nilesh Rane previously served as a Member of Parliament, representing Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency in 2009 as part of the Indian National Congress (INC). Subsequently, he contested unsuccessfully for the Congress in 2014 and 2019. After parting ways with the Congress, he aligned with the BJP, running on a Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha ticket.
In a social media post, the former MP, known for his provocative remarks, expressed his waning enthusiasm for active politics. He stated, “I am an ordinary citizen, but politics has allowed me to gain knowledge and build a cooperative family. I am forever grateful for that. However, my zeal for electoral politics or similar endeavors has diminished. While I may continue to participate in various campaigns and activities, I no longer possess the same fervor as before. I understand that I may have disappointed some people, and for that, I offer my sincere apologies.” Nilesh Rane also conveyed his gratitude to the BJP for its support.
