In a startling disclosure, Ramandeep Singh Mangumath, the Nihang Singh responsible for the tragic killing of orphaned youth Vishal Kapoor at the 6th Patshahi Gurudwara in Kapurthala district, Punjab, has been found to be under the influence of narcotics, as indicated by drug tests conducted during police custody.
During the custodial interrogation, suspicions arose when Ramandeep, showing withdrawal signs in absense of drug intoxication, prompted police officers to delve further into the investigation. Subsequently, he was transported to the hospital, where a drug test revealed positive results for Buprenorphine, Benzodiazepine, and Morphine components.
Vishal Kapoor’s life took a tragic turn after the loss of his parents and grandmother, leading him to an orphan. Ramandeep Singh’s revelation adds another layer of complexity to the already heart-wrenching narrative of Vishal’s life. Kapoor, originally from Fazilka city, faced the hardships of living on the streets after his grandmother’s passing, eventually finding refuge in an orphanage in Sonipat, thanks to a social service organization.
The police located Vishal through a mobile phone found in his possession, leading them to the orphanage in Sonipat. However, the investigation is ongoing, with no conclusive evidence of foul play emerging yet. Ramandeep Singh Mangumath’s assertion of committing the murder for publicity has been met with skepticism by Sikh Jathas (religious groups).
While the Sikh community calls for an impartial inquiry, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) from Sirmaur district urges the police to conduct a fair and unbiased investigation into the entire incident.
