The CMs of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will take an oath today
Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh’s new chief ministers, Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai, respectively, on wednesday will take the oath of office. Vishnu Sai will take his oath at Science College Ground in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, at 2:00 pm today, while Mohan Yadav will take his ascetic as the state’s chief minister at a ceremony held at Lal Parade Ground in the state capital. The oath-taking ceremony at both locations is expected to be attended by a number of prominent figures, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Madhya Pradesh will have two deputy Chief Ministers — Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda. Former Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will be the Assembly Speaker.
“Our newly designated Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and his cabinet will take the oath in the ceremony held at Motilal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday. It will be organised in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and National Party President JP Nadda and will be historic,” said BJP state president VD Sharma.
“PM Modi, Shah, Nadda along with other party officials, Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of other states, will be present in the ceremony. Apart from this, a large number of party workers will also be present in the program. I welcome everyone attending the program,” he added.
On November 17, Madhya Pradesh held a single phase of elections for 230 assembly seats. The results were tallied on December 3. After fighting for nearly 20 years in power in the state, the BJP emerged victorious with 163 seats, while the Congress came in far behind with just 66 seats. According to the ongoing discussions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and other senior party leaders will attend the swearing-in ceremony in Chhattisgarh, according to BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sharma’s statement on Tuesday.
