Hours after his electoral defeat, Conservative leader Rishi Sunak addressed the media outside 10 Downing Street, London. The 44-year-old thanked his wife Akshata Murty and two daughters for their sacrifice so that he could serve our country. He also talked about how remarkable Britain was, saying that “two generations after his grandparents came to the UK, adding that being an immigrant, he never thought that he could one day become Britain’s PM.
“This is a difficult day after a number of difficult days,” but “I feel honoured to have served as your PM. This is the best country in the world,” he said.
