MUMBAI: During an extraordinary National Lok Adalat held in Mumbai, more than 12,000 cases were resolved, resulting in a remarkable Rs 722 crore being awarded. These cases encompassed a variety of issues, including compoundable criminal offenses, check bouncing, and matters falling under the Payment and Settlement Act. A grand total of Rs 722,82,71,891 was disbursed to the 12,472 individuals involved. The event was organized by key figures such as D.P. Surana, Member Secretary of the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, and A. Subramaniam, Principal Judge of the City Civil and Sessions Court and Chairperson of the Mumbai District Legal Services Authority, among others.
