NANDIGRAM VIOLENCE: CBI SUMMONS MAMATA’S ELECTION AGENT SHEIKH SUFIAN

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s chief election agent Sheikh Sufian in Nandigram in the wake of post-poll violence. Sufian has been directed to appear before the CBI on Thursday. After the results were announced, allegations of attacks on the BJP in multiple areas of Nandigram surfaced against the Trinamool. It is also alleged that a man named Debabrata Maiti was killed because of him. Sufian’s name is involved in that incident.

Trinamool was accused of killing Debabrata Maiti, a resident of Chillogram in Nandigram and a BJP supporter. Sufian was allegedly involved in the incident. Sufian’s name is on the list of accused in the complaint filed by Debabrata’s family members with the Human Rights Commission. The CBI has summoned Sufian after the incident.

“The Central Bureau of Investigation has sent me a notice,” Sufian said.

“I have been asked to appear at the government guest house adjacent to Haldia port on Thursday. Nevertheless, I am not involved in any incident. Meanwhile, I have to go for the reason that the CBI has called me. “

Pralay Pal Palta, a resident of Nandigram, vice-president of the BJP’s Tamluk organizing district, said, “On the day after the election, Debabrata was beaten up by Trinamool miscreants at his house in Chillogram. Debabrata died two days after he was taken to Calcutta with serious injuries.”

“Because the Trinamool people surrounded the four sides. The police were also inactive.” Palta added. Later, when the Human Rights Commission came to Nandigram, a complaint was lodged with them. There are names of several first-line grassroots leaders of Nandigram, including Sheikh Sufian, in that incident.
