MoHUA Team Reviews Swachh Bharat Mission Progress in Punjab

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India team led by Secretary, Manoj Joshi along with state and district officials visited Municipal Council Kurali, SAS Nagar to review the progress of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Divulging details, Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain said that the MoHUA team discussed the layout of Aerotropolis besides visiting areas of Aerocity under GMADA. Afterwards, Waste Processing Plant Derabassi was visited where Swachh Bharat Mission progress was reviewed. The team also reviewed the progress of the Water Treatment Plant, Singhpura Village, Sector 123, Mohali. The team also took stock of the working of the Material Recovery/Recycling Facility situated at Phase 3 A, Mohali.
She said that the works being initiated or done under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) got accolades from the high-level central team. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Damanjit Singh Mann accompanied the team as a Nodal Officer. ADC Damanjit Singh Mann added that comprehensive discussions were held by the Central team with the state and district officials and a thorough inspection of the waste processing site at Kurali was conducted.
The visit was aimed at reviewing the ongoing initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). The team commended the efforts made by the state officials in achieving the program’s objectives and ensuring sustainable urban development in the state of Punjab.
The visit signifies the commitment of MoHUA to collaborate with state authorities to further enhance the progress of the mission.
