In a significant operation, law enforcement authorities successfully apprehended two individuals associated with the Prince Chauhan gang following an intense exchange of gunfire in Daunmaj village, near Kharar.
The individuals, identified as Pradeep alias Shetty and Brijpal, both residents of Naraingarh in Haryana’s Ambala district, were targeted based on specific intelligence regarding threatening calls made by the duo to a local businessman.
The encounter took place in an area surrounded by fields, resulting in both suspects sustaining bullet injuries to their legs. Prompt medical attention was provided as they were swiftly transported to the hospital.
From the scene of the operation, officials recovered two pistols and a motorcycle. Notably, this marks the eighth instance of crossfire between criminals and law enforcement in Mohali district this year. Pradeep, one of the accused, reportedly has two attempted murder cases registered against him, according to law enforcement sources.
Police revealed that the accused had allegedly made threatening calls to several individuals in New Chandigarh, Balongi, Kharar, and nearby areas. This incident follows a similar occurrence on December 16, where two criminals were shot during a police encounter on a secluded road near Saneta.
