Mini waste transfer station to open in Bengaluru’s Koramangala

In Bengaluru’s Koramangala, a mini waste transfer station for storing wet waste from homes and businesses was opened on Wednesday. The brand-new transfer station has a daily capacity of up to 28 tonnes of wet waste. This should help the bustling neighbourhood manage its waste better.

Karnataka Congress working president and BTM Layout MLA Ramalinga Reddy tweeted: “Inspected and formally inaugurated mini transfer station for transporting door-to-door collected wet waste – with a capacity of 25-28 tons daily…”

The most of the time, wet waste that is collected from homes and businesses is separated at roadside collection stations, which causes rubbish to overflow and creates unpleasant odors.

This facility will reduce street side black spots and avoid leachate spilling from compactors. It will also avoid manual handling and further escalates visual cleanliness of streets, Reddy tweeted.
