Micro observers, E-ballots to play key role in elections

In preparation for the upcoming legislative assembly elections to ensure a successful and impartial process, training was provided to micro observers after training the polling teams and instructors. During the training event held at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur, over 800 officers from various central government offices and programs were trained as micro observers. Speaking to the trainees, Additional District Collector Dinesh Sharma stated that micro observers will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Election Commission’s guidelines at the polling stations, where they hold important responsibilities.
Additional District Collector Ashok Kumar Sharma further emphasised that micro observers’ duties include overseeing various aspects of the polling process, from mock polling to the conclusion of voting, including EVM sealing and related paperwork, while maintaining the secrecy and peaceful conduct of voting at the booth.
Arrangements for all the eligible voters who are serving in the Armed Forces are being made. District Election Officer Prakash Rajpurohit has stated that in the upcoming legislative assembly elections, the votes of all eligible voters in all 19 legislative assembly constituencies of Jaipur district who are serving in the Armed Forces will be cast electronically through the Electronic Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS). He mentioned that a total of 10,401 voters in the Jaipur district will receive their ballots through this system. ETPBS will be used to send electronic ballots to the designated personnel in the armed forces, who will place their votes in double envelopes and return them to the election department.
