MEHBOOBA CLAIMS WAHEED PARRA BEING TORTURED IN DETENTION

Former Jammuu & Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday claimed that her party’s youth leader Waheed Parra was being tortured and kept under sub human conditions in J&K police detention.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday Mehbooba claimed that the CID wing of J&K police was compelling Parra to admit to false charges. In one of her tweets she said, “J&K CID has joined the list of central agencies that work to terrorise Kashmiris & falsely implicate them. Waheed is being persecuted & tortured to admit the false allegations. Since an admission didn’t happen he is being kept under inhuman conditions. This investigation has been fraudulent & politically motivated from day one”.

It is in place to mention that NIA first arrested PDP youth wing president Waheed Parra in his alleged links with Hizb and a detained Dy SP of police. Soon after he was granted bail by NIA court, he was arrested by the CID wing of J&K police and is still under their detention.

Mehbooba Mufti in another tweet said that it was appalling that the institutions were being subverted by BJP to carry on what she described as police vendetta. In one of her tweets she said, “The norm dictating such deceitful investigations is ‘Show me the man & I’ll show you the crime’. Shameful & appalling that these actions discredit & bring disrepute to the institutions meant to uphold law & order”.
