The Ministry of External Affairs announced on Tuesday that Mayank Joshi has been selected as India’s new High Commissioner to Jamaica.
Joshi is a 2003 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, according to the MEA. The diplomat is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Mission at India’s Embassy in Tokyo. He is anticipated to begin the duty soon.
The MEA in the press release said, “Mayank Joshi (IFS:2003), presently Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, Tokyo has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Jamaica.”
According to the MEA statement, India and Jamaica have long had cordial and friendly relations based on shared history, parliamentary democracy, Commonwealth membership, the English language, and a love of cricket.
