MANOJ SINHA PROMISES 4G AND FAIR PROBE INTO RECENT SRINAGAR ENCOUNTER

Jammu & Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Thursday promised that a committee constituted by him is closely examining the restoration of 4G internet services in the entire union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He also promised fair investigation into the allegations about the recent gunfight on Srinagar outskirts in which three young boys including a teenager were killed.

Manoj Sinha said that the committee is at the final stage of preparing the report and told the media “there will be good news soon in the coming days.”

Talking to the media in Jammu, Manoj Sinha said that he was having complete eye on the demands of the student community for the restoration of high speed internet and expressed hope that it would be restored very soon.

It is in place to mention that after the communication blockade on the intervening night of August 4 and 5, 2019 the central government till date has not restored high speed internet in Jammu and Kashmir. However, they restored high speed internet a few months back on a trial basis in each district of Kashmir and Jammu regions.

When asked about the recent encounter in Srinagar outskirts, Manoj Sinha told the media that J&K being a sensitive Union Territory he will come up with facts about the entire gunfight after due investigations into the allegations especially by the family members of slain youths.

“Let me tell you that J&K is a very sensitive UT. I have noted all versions including that of forces’ and the families of the (slain trio). I will come up with facts before you at an appropriate time,” LG Sinha was quoted by a news agency from Jammu.
