Manohar govt commemorates Chaudhary Charan Singh’s birth anniversary on a grand scale

The Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, led the Haryana government on Sunday, paying tribute to the farmer leader Chaudhary Charan Singh, India’s Prime Minister, popularly known as the ‘Champion of Farmers,’ on his birth anniversary. The tribute took the form of an ‘Anndata Sammelan’ organized in the village of Singhani in Bhiwani district.
Addressing a large crowd at the ‘Anndata Sammelan,’ the Chief Minister highlighted Chaudhary Charan Singh’s pivotal contributions to the welfare of farmers and laborers. He also emphasized his government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of farmers.

Speaking about the region’s transformation, the Chief Minister shared insights from his visits during 1982-84 when sand dunes covered the roads. Through the collective efforts of local farmers and the implementation of advanced micro-irrigation systems, the once arid land has flourished into a fertile and productive agricultural landscape, said Manohar Lal.
Underlining Chaudhary Charan Singh’s exceptional dedication to the cause of farmers, the Chief Minister noted the leader’s bold decision to part ways with Congress in 1967 to establish a new political entity exclusively focused on the well-being of farmers. He also provided historical context by recalling Chaudhary Charan Singh’s visionary call for a farmer census in 1971, advocating for tailoring all government schemes to benefit small and marginal farmers.
The Chief Minister highlighted the need for collaborative endeavors to promote agriculture and commended the government’s persistent efforts in this regard. He cautioned farmers to be vigilant and informed about political involvement in their issues.
Assuring the fulfillment of demands put forth by Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister JP Dalal, the Chief Minister said that a study of their viability would be conducted, and they would be fulfilled according to the process.
He mentioned that the government has undertaken numerous initiatives for the welfare of farmers, inaugurating development projects worth Rs. 112 crores for the Loharu legislative constituency. The Chief Minister shared details regarding ongoing programs in Kurukshetra for the past seven days celebrating IGM and participating in events with saints and spiritual leaders.
On this occasion, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, J.P. Dalal, presented the demands of the residents before the Chief Minister, suggesting discussions with the central government for various developmental projects.
Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker, Ranbir Gangwa, former Chief Minister of Tripura and In-charge BJP Haryana, Biplab Kumar Deb, Lok Sabha MP and BJP State President, Nayab Singh, MP, Dharambir Singh, MP Lt.Gen.(Retd) DP Vats, Ram Chander Jangra, MLA, Ram Kumar Gautam, Ghanshyam Saraf, Sombir Sangwan, Bishamber Valmiki, officers of the District administration, and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
