Manish Tiwari scotches rumours of Joining BJP

Congress MP Manish Tiwari has denied reports of his joining BJP, saying it is a fake news.
Manish Tiwari said he is working in his field. “The news of my joining BJP is completely fake and nonsense. I don’t want to comment on this,” he said.
Manish Tiwari is member of Lok Sabha from Sri Anandpur Sahib in Punjab. There were talks in Punjab for two days that Manish Tiwari will join BJP. It was said that Tiwari wanted to contest from Ludhiana Lok Sabha on BJP’s election symbol. The BJP, however, has many contenders for Ludhiana seat.
“The news of joining BJP is baseless. He is in his constituency and taking care of the development work of his area. He stayed at the house of Congress workers on the night of February 17,” a statement from his office said.
A lawyer by profession. Manish Tiwari contested on Congress ticket from Shri Anandpur Sahib of Punjab in 2019.He was the Information and Broadcasting Minister from 2012 to 2014 during the UPA government. Before this, he was MP from Ludhiana seat from 2009 to 2014. He was also the spokesperson of the Congress party during the UPA regime.
Manish Tiwari was the President of the Indian National Students Union from 1988 to 1993.
After this, he was the President of Indian Youth Congress (I) between 1998 and 2000. After losing the Lok Sabha elections in 2004, Manish Tiwari became MP in 2009 by defeating the Shiromani Akali Dal candidate.
