MUMBAI: A 40-year-old resident of Borivli in Mumbai is facing charges following allegations of sexual abuse made by a 35-year-old woman he befriended online. The complainant, originally from Karnataka, reported that the accused had lured her with the promise of a tutoring job and a 50% partnership in his coaching classes. After meeting in person and growing close, the accused is alleged to have sexually abused her at various locations within the Rabale MIDC police station’s jurisdiction. Following his failure to uphold his promises, the complainant filed a complaint, leading to the booking of the accused under IPC Section 377.
