A tragic incident unfolded in Maharashtra’s Thane district as a laborer is accused of brutally killing his 18-month-old daughter during a dispute with his wife, according to local police.
The Thane police have taken custody of Altaf Mohammad Samiullah Ansari, a 26-year-old man, and have charged him under sections 302 (murder), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
The horrifying incident transpired when the accused, consumed by anger, assaulted his wife and forcibly ejected both her and their daughter from their residence in the Abhay Nagar area of Daighargaon.
The accused allegedly threw his defenseless toddler onto the floor with such force that she succumbed to her injuries on the spot, according to a police official.
The underlying cause of this gruesome act appears to be a long-standing grudge Ansari held against his wife due to a quarrel that had occurred between them approximately 15 days prior to the tragedy. The accused’s history of alcoholism and frequent disputes with his wife further contributed to the volatile situation.
