A 30-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for reportedly killing his sister-in-law and her two minor children in Maharashtra’s Pune city over her “love affair” with another man.
Following the killing, the accused reportedly set fire to their bodies in farmland to destroy the evidence, according to police. They stated that the incident happened on April 5.
“The accused set their bodies on fire with a piece of cloth and bedsheets,” a top Pune police official said.
According to authorities, the two children killed by the accused were 6 and 4 years old.
“The accused were arrested on Thursday morning and booked under sections 302 and 201 of the Indian penal code,” according to the official.

Further probe is underway, police said.
