Maharashtra CM Shinde announces ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to kin of deceased in bus accident

The relatives of those who passed away will receive an ex gratia of Rs. 5 lakh from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, while those hurt in the bus accident that occurred on the Samruddhi Mahamarg Motorway on Saturday would receive free medical care. The reimbursement from the Chief Minister’s relief fund has been declared by Shinde.

“Expressing condolences to the deceased and their families in this unfortunate incident, the Chief Minister has announced an assistance of Rs 5 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of the deceased,” an official statement from the CM office said.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister has also mandated an investigation into the fatal accident. The Chief Minister has mandated an investigation into the situation after expressing his grief over the unfortunate accident. Three children were among the 26 deaths in the accident.

“While giving instructions to provide immediate help to the accident victims, the Chief Minister also directed to provide immediate medical treatment to the injured at government expense,” the statement further added.

According to police officials, the driver who survived the accident claimed that it happened after a bus tyre burst, which caused flames to break out inside. According to the officials, the accident’s precise cause has not yet been determined.

On Saturday at about 1:30 in the am, the accident occurred on the Samruddhi-Mahamarg Motorway. 33 passengers were aboard the bus that was headed to Pune, according to police officials.

“The bus was travelling from Nagpur to Pune when it met with an accident at around 1:30 am. The driver said that the accident took place after a tyre burst, leading to flames in the bus. Later the diesel tank of the vehicle caught fire. There are 3 children among those who died and the rest are adults. The exact reason for the accident has not yet been ascertained,” Buldhana SP Sunil Kadasane told the reporters.
