Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s residential building Prabhukunj was sealed by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday as a precautionary measure amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The singer’s family released a statement on the same day, which reads, “Do not react to any speculations related to the health of our family members.”
An excerpt from the statement also read, «We have been inundated by calls all evening inquiring whether Prabhukunj is sealed. The building society and BMC have sealed it due to the pandemic as there are a lot of senior citizens in the building and it is very important to take these precautions.” Moreover, they have also celebrated their usual festival Ganesh Chaturthi in a very simple way to support social distancing.
Apart from Lata Mangeshkar’s building, even Amitabh Bachchan’s building was sealed after the superstar with his son Abhishek, daughterin-law Aishwarya and granddaughter tested positive for coronavirus in July.
