Lata Mangeshkar’s 2nd Death Anniversary unite musicians for a ‘Sangeetmat Baithak’

A special event named Sangeetmay Baithak is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, with the blessings of Lata Mangeshkar’s sisters Asha Bhonsle and Usha Mangeshkar. It marks the second anniversary of the passing of the renowned singer, often referred to as the ‘Nightingale of India.’ The Indian Singers and Musicians Rights Association (ISAMRA) is organizing this event to honor her memory.

The event will remember Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away in 2022, following a distinguished career that saw her contribute over 30,000 songs across various Indian languages. According to India TV, numerous artists from the music industry, including Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Kunal Ganjawala, Suresh Wadkar, Shaan, Sudesh Bhosle, Shabbir Kumar, Nitin Mukesh, Lalit Pandit, Shailendra Singh, Sanjay Tandon, Annu Malik, Richa Sharma, Madhushree, Jaspinder Narula, Sadhna Sargam, among others, will revisit her timeless songs. Lata’s sisters Asha Bhonsle and Usha Mangeshkar, along with lyricists like Javed Akhtar and composers such as Vishal Bharadwaj and Himesh Reshammiya, are also expected to attend.

Sanjay Tandon, CEO of ISAMRA, expressed his sentiments, stating, “ISAMRA is a big family of singers and musicians. It is very important that this family meets occasionally and knows about each other. I am very happy that the issue of royalty raised by Lata Mangeshkar in the 60s has now been resolved under ISAMRA. We will gather like a family and pay tribute to the late Lata Mangeshkar; we will pay our respects to her and remember her contribution.”
