BJP president J.P. Nadda on Monday interacted with heads of missions from 14 countries at the party headquarters here. The event that was organised by the BJP’s foreign affairs cell is a part of the party’s “Know BJP” initiative which is aimed at addressing the “global audience”. The 14 countries included diplomats from Australia, Canada, Fiji, Bhutan, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Denmark, Israel, Kenya, New Zealand, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Suriname and the US.
While PM Modi visited Nepal’s Lumbini and offered prayers at Gautam Buddha’s birth place on an important day like Buddha Purnima, BJP chief Nadda highlighted the importance of the day to all diplomats in the discussions, saying that the day is marked as the birth of Buddha and also how the day is marked as the 8th year anniversary when the BJP first came to serve in the Union government by winning full majority seats in Parliament with 282 seats in 2014. “The delegation was shown a short-film since the inception of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and the BJP as it is on date, taking the viewers through its journey from 2 to 303 MPs in the lower House of Parliament. Nadda spoke to the guests about the policies of the PM Modi government as well as the party structure and its various departments with a round of Questions and Answers,” read the note from the party.
This is the second round of meetings with the ambassadors; the first one was interaction with heads of missions of 13 countries. “Know BJP” this exercise was launched on the party’s foundation day on April 6 by the BJP president, specifically to address the overseas audience.
