On Thursday, the Lokayukta conducted 48 searches across the state of Karnataka to look into allegations of official corruption. Since morning, there have been 48 raids conducted, including ones in Bidar, Dharwad, Kodagu, Raichur, Davangere, and Chitradurga.
Among those searched by the Lokaykta were a former Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) engineer in Davangere, a constable in Bidar, and a sub district officer in Kodagu. A district official in the Madikeri district was also searched by Lokayukta officials. Multiple areas of the city and district of Mysore are being searched. The home of the superintendent engineer for Harangi Reservoir is the target of an audit search. Searches are being carried out at a Belgaum corporation Assistant commissioners residence in Dharwad. Officials are verifying documents in his residence.
