In a significant development, the Karnataka Police have initiated legal proceedings against Minister D Sudhakar and three other individuals following a woman’s complaint alleging her daughter was subjected to assault during a property dispute.
The Yelahanka Police have officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) after a video clip depicting Minister Sudhakar allegedly issuing threats to individuals involved in the property dispute began circulating widely. The charges brought against him include violations under the SC/ST Atrocities Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including trespass.
According to the complaint filed on September 10 by Subamma, the incident unfolded on September 9 when Minister Sudhakar and over 35 people, accompanied by a JCB machine, arrived at the disputed property. Reportedly, they forcibly entered the premises and embarked on demolishing a building while no one was present.
When Subamma’s family confronted them, the accused allegedly assaulted her daughter and used derogatory language with casteist undertones. In the FIR, police have identified real estate developers Seven Hills and several traders, in addition to individuals Sudhakar, Srinivas G, Bhagyamma, and 35-40 unnamed individuals.
A senior police officer issued a statement, saying, “Based on the complaint we received, we have registered the FIR. All allegations are currently under thorough investigation.”
Following the incident, Minister Sudhakar reportedly convened meetings with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G Parameshwara to discuss the case. The minister strongly maintains that the land deal was executed legally several years ago and vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
