Karnataka election: Congress releases BJP’s ‘corruption rate card’, unveils several scandals

Karnataka assembly election is round the corner, Congress party released a ‘corruption rate card’ of the BJP on Friday, in which various scandals of the ruling party have been mentioned, including ’40 percent commissions’ charged by state contractors.

The corruption rate card was released by the Congress in two languages, English and Kannada, to unveil the corrupt practises of the BJP’s government in the state and allege that it has looted Rs 1,50,000 crore in the last four years. The grand old party further added in its corruption card that the cost of the CM post is Rs 2,500 crore and the cost of the ministerial berth is Rs 500 crore.

It alleged that BJP has looted over Rs 1,50,000 crore from the people of Karnataka in the last 4 years”.

The rate card has been released with a mention of commission as per the government’s demands for different deals. It starts with a 30 percent commission for the mutt grants, 40 percent for road contracts, and goes up to 75 percent for the Covid-19 supplies.

Karnataka Congress dubbed the BJP’s ‘double-engine government’ as ‘trouble engine government’.

The war of words between the BJP and the Congress has intensified in Karnataka ahead of the 10 May assembly polls in the state. Several issues are being raised by both parties; likewise, Lord Hanuman has been taking centre stage after the Congress party mentioned a ban on two organisations, the Bajrang Dal and the Popular Front of India, in its manifesto.

Polling in Karnataka is set to take place next week on 10 May and counting will be held on 13 May.
