A 40-year-old man was discovered deceased inside a parked vehicle in Kanpur’s Green Park area, as per the police announcement on Thursday. The individual, identified as Atul, hailed from Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh, and worked as an e-rickshaw driver in Kanpur.
Police officials were alerted about the body found in a car parked near a cell tower in Green Park’s boundary area. Upon receiving the information, the police promptly responded to the scene. A complaint has been lodged against the unknown perpetrators, and investigations are ongoing.
Speaking to the media, ACP Archana Singh from Kanpur Police Station stated, “Upon receiving the information, the police team, along with field unit and forensic officials immediately rushed to the spot. The body was taken out of the car and sent to the hospital for further medical procedures. A case has been registered against the unidentified accused. Efforts are underway to arrest the culprits.”
“Based on a phone number found on a note with him, we contacted his family, and he was identified as Atul, son of Parshuram, from Unnao district,” she added.
An engineer, present in the vicinity to replace a mobile tower’s battery, detected a foul smell and upon investigation found the body inside the car, prompting him to inform the police.
