The makers of Joaquin Phoenix-starrer ‘Napoleon’ unveiled a new trailer for the film.
The film stars Phoenix, 48, as French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.
The film portrays Bonaparte’s relentless rise to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his one true love, Josephine, showcasing his visionary military and political strategies against some of the most exciting real-world battle sequences ever captured. The film is set against a stunning backdrop of expansive filmmaking orchestrated by legendary director Ridley Scott.
According to People, the latest teaser for director Ridley Scott’s film takes off where the first trailer left off, with Bonaparte setting up a trap for the enemy on a frozen plain. The last portion of the trailer, set to Black Sabbath’s 1970 song “War Pigs,” depicts his ascent to power in France in the 1790s and his marriage to Josephine (Vanessa Kirby).
Following the French Revolution, Napoleon overthrew the government and declared himself emperor. This began a protracted period during which he engaged in diplomatic and military conflicts with other powerful European nations, particularly Great Britain.
‘Napoleon’ will be in the theatres on November 22.
