The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) has issued avalanche warnings for ten districts in the region, categorizing them as low and medium danger levels.
According to the advisory released on Sunday, avalanches with a low danger level are expected to occur above 2500 meters in the Anantnag and Kulgam districts within the next 24 hours. Additionally, avalanches with a medium danger level are predicted to occur above 2200 meters in the Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban, Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Ganderbal districts during the same timeframe.
Residents in these areas are urged to take precautionary measures anAd avoid venturing into avalanche-prone areas. The advisory emphasized the importance of staying vigilant and following safety guidelines to minimize risks.
Furthermore, individuals requiring assistance during emergencies are encouraged to dial 112 for immediate support. As the region braces for potential avalanche threats, authorities advise residents to stay informed about weather conditions and heed official warnings to ensure their safety and well-being.
