J&K rally: Farooq Abdullah and Bharatsinh Solanki call for change, slam BJP policies

Former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) president Dr. Farooq Abdullah, alongside AICC Incharge of Jammu and Kashmir affairs, Shri Bharatsinh Solanki, and Congress candidate Raman Bhalla, led a massive public rally in Katra, denouncing the BJP’s governance in Jammu and Kashmir and advocating for change.

In his impassioned address, Dr. Abdullah lambasted the BJP for what he deemed as detrimental policies that have adversely impacted the region. He emphasized the coalition of parties under the INDIA alliance, aimed at safeguarding the nation’s secular character and democratic values. Criticizing BJP’s approach as undemocratic, Dr. Abdullah highlighted the party’s alleged disregard for established democratic norms.

Praising the leadership of Pt. Nehru and Indira Gandhi, Dr. Abdullah denounced BJP’s vilification of their contributions to nation-building, citing Nehru’s groundwork for scientific progress and Indira’s role in the green revolution. He accused the BJP of governing Jammu and Kashmir through proxies, sidelining local officers, and failing to deliver on promised opportunities.

Shri Bharatsinh Solanki echoed these sentiments, questioning the BJP’s claims of development and accusing the party of neglecting the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir’s residents. He contrasted the UPA government’s commitment to people’s welfare with what he perceived as BJP’s prioritization of corporate interests over public welfare.

Congress candidate Raman Bhalla joined in the criticism, accusing the BJP of neglecting the youth and future generations of Jammu and Kashmir. Bhalla pledged to address local issues and restore harmony in the region if elected.

The rally, attended by prominent leaders from Congress and NC, underscored the united front against BJP’s governance in Jammu and Kashmir, urging voters to bring about change by electing Congress candidates Raman Bhalla and Ch. Lal Singh.

The event concluded with receptions for Shri Bharatsinh Solanki at various locations, symbolizing solidarity and support for the coalition’s mission for change in Jammu and Kashmir.
