Jennifer Aniston and Friends Cast Mourn Matthew Perry, Share Their ‘Struggles’

The entertainment industry is still grieving over the sudden death of actor Matthew Perry at the age of 54. The devastating news has left a deep impression on his former co-star, Jennifer Aniston, and their close-knit group from the popular TV sitcom ‘Friends.’

According to insiders, Aniston and the four other surviving ‘Friends’ cast members—Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc—attended Perry’s burial on Friday in Los Angeles, near the Warner Bros. studios where the show was filmed for a decade.

“It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the first anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner. She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet,” the source said. “She is trying to regroup and recover, but it’s been a completely devastating blow,” the source added.

The loss of Matthew Perry has hit Jennifer Aniston particularly hard. An industry source shared, “Out of the remaining five, Jen and Courteney are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely.” This loss comes less than a year after the passing of Aniston’s father, John Aniston, a beloved actor in his own right.

Perry, who openly battled addiction issues, had a special connection with Aniston, who had been a supportive friend during his struggles. He even acknowledged her support in a 2022 interview. Perry and Aniston’s professional relationship began on the set of ‘Friends’ in 1994, and though his initial feelings for her were strong, they eventually faded due to her lack of romantic interest.

Matthew Perry’s untimely death has not only left a void in the entertainment industry but has also brought Jennifer Aniston and her fellow ‘Friends’ stars closer as they navigate this difficult time together.
