The teams of Income Tax officials are conducting ‘surveys’ at the BBC premises in Delhi and Mumbai. A spokesperson for the department stated that the surveys were being carried at various locations, the Indian express reported. As per a report by PTI, the officials revealed that these surveys were part of a “tax evasion investigation,” and that they were looking for the documents related to the business operations of the company.
These surveys came week after the media house released a 2-part documentary on the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
